This tool is based on the premise that every person has his/her/their own shape - a unique set of preferences and values in key areas, developed over time through a combination of experience, education and inborn traits. No shape is right or wrong, good or bad. Every shape has strengths and weaknesses. An important key is to identify your unique shape, and then develop strategies that help you interact better with those who have different shapes.
As you complete this inventory, keep in mind one context where you work most often with others. This could be a team at work, the group of colleagues you work with on a regular basis, your global sales team, your non-profit leadership team, or any group of individuals with whom you have regular contact. (For the purpose of developing this prototype, please keep only one context in mind.)
As you read each of the 32 statements, do your best to indicate your preferred way of responding, not how you think you should respond. Answer what you would do if there were no expectations from others. The more you can do that, the more helpful and accurate your shape will be - and the better you can develop strategies for working with other using this visual language.
